Betting on Volleyball – More Dominant in Europe and Brazil
Betting on volleyball has a varied fan-base, it is hugely popular in Russia, Italy, Brazil and the USA, whereas in the UK the popularity of this sport is not so widespread; Italy, Russia and Brazil often dominate this sport. Most bet on volleyball takes place during major international events which include the Olympics, the FVIB World Championships and Grand Prix events and the World League. For example during the FVIB World Championships which is the most prestigious and oldest major competition, the Russians invariably dominate in both male and female competition. During the FVIB World Grand Prix which is a woman's event, Italy and Brazil have dominated in the past, each of them winning the competition 8 times. This makes it a pretty safe bet, but also does not mean that a great deal of profit can be made when betting. On the other side of the coin - one advantage is that volleyball is not a popular sport for punters, so there is less competition making it easier to win.
